Leona on the news

Especial NavidadMrs. Carrington, the most glamorous (and most camp) show on the internet keeps generating news, appearing on several local newspapers this week (see the articles on Granada Hoy from Saturday and today or the front page today at Ideal.es).

As reported in these articles, the show will be screened in Granada tonight as a special montage including the premiere of the eighth episode, which will be available online very soon this week.

Yesterday was also the day chosen for the shooting of the new Christmas Special, adding a new cameo to our evergrowing list of guest stars, of which we are so proud. This special episode will be available online in only a few days! Update: the Christmas Special is being edited against the clock so it can be screened tonight as well!

And finally we have announced the great secret we had been keeping fro so long: superstar Alaska will be starring on the show. The shooting will take place next week and her character will play an important role in the Leona’s plots towards the end of the season. Alaska is the most significant figure in the cultural movement of Madrid’s “movida”, has worked with Almodóvar and keeps an active and succesful career as a singer with her band Fangoria. Stay tuned!

International sales agent

los-gatosWe already mentioned that Mrs. Carrington aroused a great deal of interest in the Market section of the LesGaiCineMad festival last month. Well, those contacts have proven fruitful. We have signed a deal with Phillipe Tasca of Rendez-vous Pictures to take care of worldwide distribution for the series.

This could mean all kind of changes (hopefully for the better) in the show’s future, and especially a greater commercial visibility. What will the destiny bring? We’ll leave that on Phillipe’s hands as we focus on shotting the final scenes for this first season. By the way, have you already tried to guess who died in episode 7?

In the photo, Phillipe and me at the bar Los Gatos in Madrid, after and aboundant and delicious tapas lunch and a friendly conversation on the commercial possibilities of the series.

LesGaiCineMad 2009

I’m still in Madrid doing promotion for Mrs. Carrington at the 1st LesGaiCineMad Spanish LGBT Film Market. Several international distributors have already shown their interest in our work, so we’re really glad with the first initial response.

Here are some images from Tuesday’s PhotoCall.

Dressed to impress

A large refurbishment has taken place on the website, not so much on the looks as on the contents. We’ve focused on the Movies section in order to have everything ready for the opening of the LesGaiCineMad festival tomorrow. Fidel Martínez and myself will be in Madrid for the next few days to promote Mrs. Carrington and find support for new projects. Wish us good luck!
