{"id":2341,"date":"2010-08-24T11:02:46","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T09:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alexhernandez.es\/?p=2341"},"modified":"2016-08-17T17:36:49","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T15:36:49","slug":"lynch-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alexhernandez.es\/en\/2010\/08\/24\/lynch-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Lynch (One)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/gp\/product\/B002CQI3TA?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=talleliter-21&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=19450&amp;creativeASIN=B002CQI3TA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Lynch one\" src=\"https:\/\/alexhernandez.es\/images\/Lynch-one-213x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/alexhernandez.es\/en\/2010\/08\/23\/the-mindscape-of-alan-moore\/\">The Landscape of Alan Moore<\/a><\/em>,  which we discussed yesterday, awoke in me the interest to see another documentary on one of our scarce mad geniuses alive, the ever original David Lynch.<\/p>\n<p><em><a title=\"Lynch (One)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/gp\/product\/B002CQI3TA?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=talleliter-21&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=19450&amp;creativeASIN=B002CQI3TA\" target=\"_blank\">Lynch (One)<\/a><\/em> covers a period of about two years (2005-2006) and witnesses the recording of some videos for <a title=\"DavidLynch.com\" href=\"http:\/\/davidlynch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">DavidLynch.com<\/a> affiliates, the creation of some of his pictorial works and the shooting of scenes for his most recent feature film <a title=\"Inland Empire\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/gp\/product\/B000OM8WWM?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=talleliter-21&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=19450&amp;creativeASIN=B000OM8WWM\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Inland Empire<\/em><\/a>. Unfortunately, the selection of rather unsignificant moments tells us very little about the character or his creative force.<\/p>\n<div align=center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3Kz2vhs2kr0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Forget being the  best of anything. That&#8217;s  the fruit of the action,  and you do the work  -they say- for the doing,  not the fruit. You can  never really know how  it&#8217;s gonna turn out in the  world but you know if  you enjoy doing it.  And ideas start flowing and  you start, you know,  getting excited about  stuff. Then you&#8217;re having a  great time in the  doing and that&#8217;s what  it&#8217;s all about. If you don&#8217;t  enjoy the doing,  then do something else.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lynch praises the virtues of meditation, as he did in <a title=\"Catching the Big Fish\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/gp\/product\/1585425400?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=talleliter-21&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=19450&amp;creativeASIN=1585425400\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Catching the Big Fish<\/em><\/a> -which we can discuss some other day-, and invites all artists to medidate in order to -according to his words- reach a state of pure creativity. He then refutes the theory that the artist must suffer in order to create, and claims that artists will be more creative the happier they are.
